Under the direction of the General Manager, the role includes maintaining and delivering thetargets on revenue, profitability and quality goals. The operations manager will ensureefficient restaurant operation through training and supervision, as well as maintain highproduction, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. The operation manager isrequired to perform as a true entrepreneur who can successfully manage large teams andmulti-dimensional operations that encompass all areas of restaurant operations.
Policies, Processes and Procedures:

  • Apply approved functional policies, processes and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Leadership:

  • Partner across all departments in an effort to support the team in consistent execution of all systems and processes to deliver all products and services to the brand standards.
  • Support senior management in building highly functional restaurant teams who share a common vision and values surrounding the overall success of the business.
  • Execute established brand standards within the business as well as think outside the box to harness potential opportunities to grow retail sales through both staff and guest interaction
  • Manage the effective achievement of the overall business objectives through the leadership of the restaurant.
  • Setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.
  • Be updated on new safety trends in the industry and lead the training of his staff on HACCP and SafeServ Training to ensure all staff are trained to the required levels.

Day- To-Day Operations:

  • Reviews daily, weekly and monthly financial, sales and audit reports and follows up on any deviations.
  • Spends quality time in each restaurant to observe managers, associates and the operations to ensure that specifications and standards as well as policies and procedures on cash handling, security, fire and safety etc. are complied with.
  • Conduct regular and scheduled meetings and follow-up sessions with the management team to create a working environment of open communication and trust based relationships.

  • Attends and participates in management and associate meetings in each restaurant on a regular basis with the aim of developing strategic initiatives for the company.
  • Liaises with other Division/Departments on matters concerning key corporate functions (i.e. purchasing, accounting, warehousing, maintenance, personnel & administration).
  • Provides strategic direction to Managers of operations and ensures that all actions support the company’s goals.
  • Establishes direction and priorities for capital expenditures and make appropriate recommendations on sales build up and marketing program.
  • Ensures food and labor costs are maintained effectively and efficiently and staffs are utilized at optimum.
  • Prepares a complete financial budget for existing locations as well as for newly approved units.
  • Prepare food orders in conjunction with Central Kitchen and regularly monitors the food stock level.
  • Participates in all management meetings and initiatives and ensures that all information relating to operational issues is properly communicated to all operational units.
  • Interviews, selects, recruits and oversees orientation of all restaurant staff.
  • Participates and provides feedback on training initiatives.

Planning & Development:

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to develop the team members into brand ambassadors and provides them the training and coaching to become exceptional in service delivery.
  • Demonstrate financial comprehension of the restaurant’s budget and P&L.
  • Serve as a Service Coach developing, implementing, and executing training and developmental programs for all individuals under stewardship to drive continuous improvement and employee retention.
  • Possess a self-motivated approach to own personal and professional growth.

Communications & Networking:

  • Drive and communicate all initiatives externally and internally to ensure on-time delivery of services as per service level agreements.
  • Foster an environment of hospitality and customer service in which all team members put the customers first in every situation.
  • Execute established standards for overall guess satisfaction that meet or exceed brand standards as determined by an objective ranking systems.
